SPSConsulting specializes in providing engineering solutions for the sugar industry. With over 40 years of experience in sugar production and processing, we utilize near-infrared (NIR) technology to deliver efficient and innovative process engineering solutions. If you require assistance with sugar production or processing operations, we have the knowledge and expertise to enhance your productivity.
With over 30 years experience in Sugar production, processing and research we can offer innovative solutions to improve all aspects of sugar production.
We specialize in the development, delivery and 24/7 online support of process and laboratory NIR solutions, with an extensive database of NIR spectra for most sugar milling products. We have proven online and benchtop solutions using instrumentation from most NIR suppliers including FOSS, Bruker, Perten and MicroNIR.
We offer consulting services to clients in various industries to help them optimize their engineering processes and operations. Our experts provide valuable insights and recommendations to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Our team will identify a point in your process where the product has not changed (nothing added or removed) and is suitable for the collection of valid NIR spectra.
Extensive "starter" online calibrations available for most mill products.
Prepared Sugar Cane starter calibrations include Brix, Pol, Fibre, Ash, Moisture and many more.
These are "tuned" to your site using results from your laboratory paired to NIR spectra collected with your new NIR system.
NIR analysis outputs for all parameters can be sent to the factory distributed control system every 10 seconds.
These outputs can be used to generate process parameter trends or as inputs to factory automated control loops.
When paired with an accurate product tracking system, outputs for all NIR parameters can be analysed over individual cane consignments, blocks, farms, varieties or harvester groups.
Block average NIR results can be used to generate Global Information System (GIS) thematic maps (as shown above).
We don't supply product tracking systems but we know who does.
While we are happy with a sale, we prefer a relationship.
We have supported some of our clients for over 25 years.
As NIR technology develops we move you with it.
Assistance transitioning to new hardware, software and calibration upgrades is included with some support contracts.
If there is something you want that we don't already have, we will work with you to develop it.
You don't need to be an "instant" NIR expert - we will do that for you.
Using secure VPN connections and remote control software we can help anytime, from anywhere.
Various support contracts, from 24/7 online (respond within 1 hour, annual contract) to Ad Hoc (respond within 24 hours, hourly rate) are available.
If you are not ready for an online NIR installation or it doesn't meet your needs, we can still help you.
Mature "starter" calibrations are available for most mill products.
These are "tuned" to your site using results from your laboratory paired to NIR spectra collected with your new NIR system.
Rapid analysis of key factory products will allow improved:
• Milling train extraction
• Pan stage crystallisation
• Low grade sugar recovery
• Raw sugar production
• Mill mud processing
Benchtop instruments are connected to a remote
server where product calibrations, sample cup
requirements and scan setups are downloaded to the
instrument.
Once setup, instruments can synchronise
with the server, either continuously or at the discretion
of the user, to upload data (scans, predictions, and reference
values) and to download updates (changes to equations, settings or bias values)
